Hope of Delight

"Hope of Delight" is the MP3 player of prenatal education device for mothers when they were in pregnant period. The design thinking is mainly based on "Emotional Response" between mother, infant and father. The aperture looks like smiling. When the mother's belly becomes bigger, the smiling is also brighter, transferring the emotion of hope, joy and excitement in parents' anticipation of new life arrival. It could attach on mother's belly directly to play music for infant.

This design work is finished in Tokyo, Japan. The design thinking is based on behavior design and contextual mapping, specially in Tokyo. As I were intern in Tokyo Design Center, the living space is limited in single dormitory, and thus I discover that users usually drape their coat around chair. Based on user behavior and increase living space, I combine the specific behavior into folding chair's design feature. To develop the appropriate solution in different culture and context.

"Showing your reading taste" is the main idea of this furniture. By the usage of hanging books to re-define the arrangement of bookshelf. The appearance is varied by different colors of book cover, decorating the tradition furniture with users' own book. Moreover, the shape is designed alike TV cabinet in order to remind users to acquire information and knowledge not only from TV, but also from books and reading.
Nowadays, more and more electronic product is provided electricity by USB Hub. But users usually forget to remove the USB devices to save energy. This design work is based on Green Design, to solve these scenariors that users regardless behavior.
We provided clear affordance: "Protrude" & "Concave", which are represented respectively "On" & "Off". It is flexible that users can easy push the protrude button to remove the USB device.
The scenarios is unpleasant that smoker's second-hand smoke to pollute the public space. This design thinking is "Left the second-hand smoke to themselves", using humorous design metaphor, that is bomb, to transform the relationship of smoker and cigarette.
This is based on Fun Design and reverse thinking for users. By the image of exploding bomb to represent the smoker's health.
Touch is the first step to sense the information for the deaf. This design target is for disable people, specially for the deaf. We used S/N technique to receive and transmit sound into digital wave. To improve the hearing problems and constructing conversational ability for the deaf.
This Universal Design project is based on creating simplicity and intensify usability for disable people.
The idea sketches are my thought and inspiration from daily life. I would like to discover, delivery, and develop everything on design domains or others.
By sketching, I could organize my context, connection, and observation. The sketches show some part of my work or inspiration.
